Everyone wants the same thing: to maintain or improve current levels of productivity while spending less money on information technology. This workshop addresses areas where nonprofits can improve their existing information technology for less. Working together, we’ll look at every facet of your organization’s technology and what benefits and trade-offs can be found in money-saving changes. Learn how to assess your technology system, including hardware, software and network configurations; review or create a long-term technology plan; procure new hardware and software at the best price; create comprehensive back-up and recovery plans; and use technology for greater efficiency. Find out how technology is used for communications and outreach tools such as email blasts and e-newsletters, social networking and viral marketing and how your nonprofit can realize cost savings by using these technology options.
Among the areas we’ll be looking at are: - T1 circuits, DSL & Cable
- Digital mailings and distribution
- Telephones, voice over IP (VOIP), mobile phones and all digital communications
- Staffing, consulting & volunteers
- Backups and disaster recovery
- Security
- Printing, inkjets, laser printers & copiers
- Web and email hosting
- Database management and hosting
Without sugar-coating things too much, this workshop will emphasize that lean times can be an opportunity (not just a hardship) for improving all aspects of your technology.
