Two non-profit organizations have been awarded grants from the Dutchess County Bar Association Fund totaling $2,145.   Funding priority is given to enhance public understanding of the law and how it works, and support increased delivery of legal services to those who cannot afford them.

Spring 2008 Awards

Jewish Community Center of Dutchess County

Funds to offer the third Poughkeepsie Senior Law Day, focusing on legal rights relative to the voting process and a session on Medical Identity Theft. 

Legal Services of the Hudson Valley
$1,395

Funds to refurbish office space in the Dutchess County office to support the delivery of legal services to poor and low-income clients in a professional and dignified atmosphere.  Upgrades to include better lighting, painting and floor mats.
